Work Week

Rodney smelled Zelenka before he saw him. BO and coffee - eau de laboratory.

"You stink," Rodney said, reaching out for the cup.

"You're no rose garden," Zelenka returned without heat. "I haven't seen the inside of my quarters in three days."

Rodney handed the cup back empty, then eased his fingers back inside the console he was repairing. "We'll sleep when we're dead," he quipped. "After this one and the other six, we should be able to pull another twelve percent power to the shields."

"Good, good," Radek said, draining his own coffee and setting both mugs aside. He crouched down and started working on the console next to Rodney's. "Maybe someday we will get to take a vacation - sandy beach, drinks with umbrellas, large, soft bed."

"I wish," Rodney said.
