Watchers

The next time John looked through the sliding glass door to check on Rodney and Julian, he nearly dropped his beer. "Emmett," he said in a strained voice. Emmett turned his head and nearly dropped his beer.

Through the glass, they could see that Rodney had gotten up from his chair, and was standing in the middle of the hardwood floor, kissing Julian.

"Whoa," Emmett said. "I'd forgotten how good they look together."

Rodney turned his face toward the door, looking at John. After a moment, Julian's head turned toward Emmett. John and Emmett shared a look, then both nodded. Rodney kissed Julian hard, his hand fisted in Julian's shirt.

Emmett and John watched, breathless, as Julian's elegant fingers came up to bracket Rodney's face, then slid higher to tangle in hair that John knew was fine and soft.

John swallowed hard when Rodney moved Julian closer to the door, easing him back against a handy wall before breaking the kiss.

Julian looked wrecked, eyes wide, mouth red and wet. He arched his neck back when Rodney went for his throat with lips and teeth.

John and Emmett clinked their beer bottles together and settled in to watch the show.
